Revolution 2020 is most talked fifth book by Chetan Bhagat, best-selling author of his previous four novels ‘Five point someone, Night @ call center, Three mistakes of my life and 2 states’. R2020 is a story of three childhood friends –  Gopal, Raghav and Aarti. Each one has their own ways to achieve success, fame and bring Revolution in India by 2020.

You may ask, so what, this is another Chetan Bhagat book which will include college, IIT and all,  No, Chetan Bhagath this time come out of college (IIT) stories and attempted some thing new and serious this time. Serious because, the story shows how our education system is corrupted till the neck, how our government offices works,  it has scams and how people who want to change the system get into the trouble.

The story is narrated by the Gopal’s perspective, where he tells his saga of life. The story revolves around three best friends from school.
Gopal – Who wants to make money using his intelligence.
Raghav – Who wants to bring the Revolution by using his intelligence.
Aarti – is the girl they both fall in love with.

This is the second novel, in which I noticed that authors don’t wants to give exact dates of the events in the book, instead they give you the names of the movies. Like in this book, you will see the names like ‘Main Hoon Na, Chak De India, Rock On’, you need to figure out the dates when the events are happening in the book based on the release dates of the movies mentioned in the book.

This book from page one will make you glued to it till end, it will take you to the Journey of Gopal’s Life, how much he faced the problems to make it to IIT or NIT, how he faced problems with setting up the college or proposing the girl he LOVED the must in the world. The book talks about our education systems and how system can be twisted by using the power of  ‘white envelope’.  The Character development of Gopal is pretty awesome as he is the main protagonist in this book, where as character development of Raghav and Aarti lack the details. Chetan Bhagat has handled the love triangle pretty amazingly, considering his previous books which doesn’t had any kind of love triangle.

Once upon a time, in small-town India, there lived two intelligent boys.
One wanted to use his intelligence to make money.
One wanted to use his intelligence to create a revolution.
The problem was, they both loved the same girl.

Welcome to Revolution 2020. A story about childhood friends Gopal, Raghav and Aarti who struggle to find success and love in Varanasi. However, it isn’t easy to achieve this in an unfair society that rewards the corrupt. As Gopal gives in to the system, and Raghav fights it, who will win?

Overall, A real page turner and great story and a must read, go ahead and do read it.  And by the way, Chetan Ji, Gopal is indeed a good person!

Love is eternal, Love is one time feeling, love happens ones in a life time. The question here is ‘what is love?’ Psychology depicts love as a cognitive and social phenomenon.

Personally speaking, as per me, Love is a feeling for the person, a very special person in your life, when you see that person your heart beats more rapidly. You are in love – when you want to spend the whole day with that person, when you want to hear from that person, when you start dreaming about that person, when you start thinking about that person.

You’re in love. That makes you actually kind of boring to people who aren’t in love – Claudia Gray. 🙂

‘Falling in Love is a once-a-lifetime feeling’ I would have said it’s true if I traveled through time using time machine and writing these words, on a sunny day somewhere around 17th to 19th century. But I am writing these words here, in 21st first century this means ‘Falling in Love is a once-a-lifetime feeling’ is not true, you may ask why?, Well ……

Gone are the days, when guy used to sit whole day in burning summer in front of the girls house just to see her face, wave a hand at her. Gone are the days, when a guy/girl used to spend many sleepless nights just to write the love letter to here girl/boy friend. Gone are the days, when lovers used to be non-materialistic. Gone are the days, when people died for love. Gone are the days, when Love used to be blind.

In this Materialistic world, love got the eyes, love is no more blind. In this Materialistic world people break up faster than the glass and before breaking up they find another person who they think is there soul mate. So, is ‘Falling in Love is a once-a-lifetime feeling’ in this modern 21st century, no, off-course not. I am not saying that, you won’t find true love in 21st century. I am just saying that you may find true love more than once in 21st century :).

Last but not least, “The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them – Thomas Merton”.

Love, Lust & Life by Azhan Ahsan is the story of small town boy Ameen Jalal who calls himself pop of liars. Who spoke lies through out his life. He is dieing, his throat is cut, he is bleeding and he know no one can save him and he wants the whole world to know about his lies before he dies.

He tells his story about his life, about his love and his lies and he want whole world to know his lies.
Ameen Jalal born in second class Muslim Family, his father admits him to Urdu medium school while his mother insist his father to send him to English medium school. Finally his mother wins and he is admitted to English Medium school. Life takes more twists and turns in his life and he get chance to visit Mumbai. In Mumbai he starts his career as a Basketball coach. His first student ‘Priyanka’ is pretty and beautiful girl, while coaching her he falls in love with Priyanka.

While he is lost in Priyanka’s love, he forgets about his childhood friend Zareen, who loves Ameen from childhood. He promised her that he will marry her once he settle down his business in Mumbai.

When he never returns, Zareen is married to Ameen’s school friend.  Ameen marries to Priyanka and they both open a restaurant and life was going well until Zareen come to know about the marriage of Ameen. She gets furies because he made him false promises, told lies and never told him about him about Priyanka. She get furies also because he once promised him that he will marry her once he returns from Mumbai but he never returned.

The story is written very well, it follows the life of Ameen from childhood, how is struggled in life, about his school days about his family and his love, lust and his life. The author also described very well the happenings in India along with the life of Ameen.

This is the first book by Azhan Ahsan and I must say I am really impressed by his writing. Some people may say, this is the same old love story, no, he tried something new that no one else tried till now, Azhan has good observation and wrote this book intelligently. He just 21 years old and youngest author.

He is the 4th indian author I read, first three Indian authors are Chetan Bhagath, Aravind Adiga and Ashok Bankar. I love Indian writing because I believe that they are more closely related to our life’s. I recommend you to read the Indian  Novels and encourage the Indian authors to write.

If you want to try some thing new and light this weekend you can pick this book.

I give it : 3.5/5.
